About NexClip AI

The Story

I've spent 25+ years editing video — broadcast, corporate, documentary. Thousands of hours of footage, trimmed down to minutes that matter.

The hardest part was never the cutting. It was the finding. Scrubbing through a 60-minute interview to locate the 3 minutes where the CEO says something real. Watching an entire webinar just to pull the pricing discussion.

Every AI clipping tool I tried made the same assumption: the AI should decide what's important. But "interesting" and "relevant" aren't the same thing. So I built something different — a native macOS app that asks you what matters, instead of guessing. Read why I went native macOS →

What is NexClip AI

NexClip AI is a native macOS app that introduces Topic-Based Editing — a patent-pending approach where AI extracts every topic from your video and lets you choose which ones to clip.

Your video files stay on your Mac. Only audio is sent for transcription, then immediately deleted. It works with both Japanese and English, with language-specific NLP processing. And it exports to Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere Pro — so it fits into your existing workflow.

The Founder

Kiyoshi Nagahama

Founder & Developer, NexClip AI

25+ years in video production across broadcast, corporate, and documentary. Now a solo founder building NexClip AI — combining decades of industry experience with AI to solve a problem I've lived with my entire career.

NexClip AI is built with Swift, SwiftUI, and Rust (via UniFFI) for the macOS app, with Next.js on the backend. Every line of code is written by one person — from the Rust NLP engine to the Swift video pipeline to the web API.

The Technology

macOS App

Swift + SwiftUI with AVFoundation for video processing. Native performance, no Electron.

Core Engine

Rust via UniFFI — timecode correction, clip planning optimization, and NLP processing shared across platforms. Read the architecture deep-dive →

AI Transcription

ElevenLabs Scribe v2 with speaker diarization. Japanese and English with language-specific sentence boundary detection.

NLE Export

FCPXML (Final Cut Pro / DaVinci Resolve), Premiere XML, MP4, and SRT subtitles.

The Company

NexClip AI is a product of Cyberseeds LLC, a US-based company. Topic-Based Editing is patent pending (provisional patent filed December 2025).
